A quieter week than normal due to the close proximity of the big Christmas races – there is however a two-day meeting at Ascot on Friday and Saturday that has some great runners due to take part. Bob Olinger looks to continue his faultless start over fences on Friday before the favourite of the Supreme, Jonbon, looks to enhance his growing reputation in Grade 2 company later on in the day.
The Saturday has the feature of the two-days – the Long Walk Hurdle – the likes of Buzz, Paisley Park, Thomas Darby, Thyme Hill, and Ronaldo Pump will all seemingly line up in a real showdown, whilst we may also be treated to the seasonal reappearance of Nicky Henderson’s Champ – he would be the icing on the cake in what should prove to be the most popular race of the weekend.

Cricket:
England did put up a slight bit of resistance to Australia, with emphasis on the slight. It did seem as if England were back in the game at the end of day three with Root and Malan at the crease. That all unravelled pretty quickly on day four, however!
Test two sees the teams travel to the Adelaide Oval for a day-night test which may see England sneak a slight advantage with the pink ball and a probable return of James Anderson and Stuart Broad. Australia will have to do without the services of Josh Hazlewood, again another advantage for Joe Root’s men – all of the above will inevitably lead to Australia winning comfortably and taking a 2-0 series lead!
